Friendship House - A Community of Faith

Friendship House is a 12-bedroom house that is a community of believers who are part of the Seeds of Hope community.

It began 5 years ago when Pastor Chaney and his family relocated from Chicago to Pittsburgh. The House has become home to Pastor Chaney and his family, young adults who are interested in helping with the ministry of Seeds of Hope and those in need of housing who have no other place to go.

The summer interns also live at Friendship House while working at the Summer Camp. It has become one of the taproots into the community that the Church serves.
Initially, small group meetings were held in the chapel of the Friendship House as a new church plant and has since grown into the larger community of believers that now meet in the Evaline Sanctuary.

Friendship House is a meeting place within the neighborhood that provides a safe nurturing haven for the children and youth to come and visit and find spermanent shelter. They are frequently seen socializing through
recreational games and while experiencing the mentoring relationships of the college students and young adults. The young adults and some older youth are also integrated into the structural aspect of a two-parent family that offers organized dinners, household chores, emotional support and career development during the critical stages in the teens' development. Many of the youth have been
supported and received jobs through the personal direction offered at Friendship House.

Anyone interested in becoming part of the ministry and living in the community housing should call 412-681-7272.
